This Lord is the Spirit. Wherever the Lord's Spirit is, there is freedom.
As all of us reflect the Lord's glory with faces that are not covered with veils, we are being changed into his image with ever-increasing glory. This comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit." (2 Corinthians 3:16-18, God's Word, translation)
We've got to get unveiled to see, " the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and his train filled the temple."(Isaiah 6:1b) What are our veils? Well, one is false religion. False religion is any kind of thinking that it's about us and our effort other than it's about God and his effort: for, to, and within us. Yes we cooperate with Him. How? By obedience and submitting. Then it stops there. And we don't take credit either.
Another veil is addiction. We simply cannot perceive Yahweh as we should as long as we are holding on to our pet sins, addictions, and demons. Why? Those things will prevent our forward movement and can warp our vision. "Without vision, the people perish"(Proverbs 29:18a, KJV). So we've got to get rid of them. How? By dying to ourselves and our selfish desires. By having enough faith to believe we can live life without them. By giving Yahweh through Jesus's Spirit greater Lordship in our lives. To do that we have to remove any small structures off of the throne of our affections.
This changing of our minds is from "glory to glory"(KJV, 2Cor. 3:18). It isn't a one time thing, but a process. We are being changed as we behold the glory of the Lord. We reflect his image, but not just that. His glory leaks inside of us. Just like we leak his glory to others through overflow and sometimes because of our brokenness. Guess what? It can go the other way. He can illumine and heal us, as we behold, Christ, the image of the invisible God.
